A quick reference for the jargon above (each is also defined in context where it first appears): EE-MRIO: environmentally-extended multi-regional input-output database, an economic map of who-sells-to-whom across countries, with environmental data attached. Leontief multiplier: the upstream supply-chain impact triggered by a unit of demand; the basis of spend-based factors. Ghosh multiplier: the downstream (supply-driven) counterpart; not combined with Leontief factors. Stressor / environmental extension: an environmental flow (e.g. a GHG, water use) attached to sectors in the model. Scope 1 / 2 / 3: direct emissions / purchased energy / other upstream (and downstream) supply-chain emissions. Basic vs purchaser price: the producer/factory-gate price vs the price the final buyer pays (adds trade & transport margins and taxes). Market-average factor: the average footprint of what a region consumes (domestic production + imports); use when the producer is unknown. FLAG: Forest, Land and Agriculture emissions; reported separately per SBTi. Now-casting: estimating recent years not yet in official statistics by extrapolation; not for sector-level reporting. pxp / ixi: product-by-product / industry-by-industry versions of the tables. Quality flag: the per-cell record of whether a factor is the country's own figure, a smoothed one, a regional average, or missing. Characterisation: converting physical flows into a common impact unit (e.g. greenhouse gases into tonnes of CO₂ equivalent via GWP100). AWARE: the method used to weight a volume of water by how scarce water is where it is used; the result is in cubic metres world-equivalent. GLAM: the UN Environment Programme's Global Life Cycle Impact Assessment Method, used for the ecosystem quality and human health factors. PDF*year: potentially disappeared fraction of species, the unit of the biodiversity / ecosystem quality factors. DALY: disability-adjusted life year, one year of healthy life lost; the unit of the human health factors.
