Use of this site

You may read, cite and link to these pages, and search engines and other automated services may crawl, index and quote their text, with attribution. You may not reproduce the content wholesale or present it as your own.

Use of the data

Automated scraping, crawling, indexing, harvesting, embedding, AI training, model development, benchmarking, retrieval-augmented generation ingestion, vector indexing, chatbot ingestion, automated query-system ingestion, database replication or substitute dataset creation using the data on this site is prohibited without prior written permission from XIO Sustainability Analytics AS. The data means the figures, tables and files behind the explorers: everything under /data/, and the data the site's scripts carry.

XIO Sustainability Analytics AS reserves its rights in the data, including against text and data mining, as far as those rights are its own. Data from EXIOBASE and other sources remains under their own licences. These terms, with the EXIOBASE licence, are also set out at /licence.txt, and the data files carry a machine-readable reservation against text and data mining. Data licences

EXIOBASE version 3.9 and later is published under a customised Creative Commons BY-SA-NC licence, free for universities, non-profit research institutes, environmental and social NGOs, and national and international environmental agencies. Commercial use, including internal carbon accounting and work delivered to clients, requires a separate licence. The licence text published with each release governs. If you are unsure whether your use is covered, ask us and we will tell you.

Intellectual property

The text, design, logo and images on this site belong to XIO Sustainability Analytics AS or to its licensors. EXIOBASE is maintained by the EXIOBASE consortium, with current updates produced by XIO Sustainability Analytics.

Liability

So far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of this site or of figures taken from it. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under Norwegian law.

We link to external sources, including Zenodo, journals and standards bodies. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content.

Governing law

Norwegian law applies, and disputes go to Oslo District Court.
